Kim Simone is a passionate wine and beer educator, making the subjects accessible, engaging, and fun for professionals and enthusiasts alike. With a career of more than two decades in the beverage industry she was previously the Corporate Sommelier for the Legal Sea Foods restaurant group. She is currently the Manager of the Commonwealth Wine School where she teaches wine and beer classes and is the wine buyer and event coordinator. She spent many years working for Martignetti’s Liquors as a wine manager, helping people select that perfect bottle of wine and going off on long wine tangents with some of her favorite customers. Her winding career path has included a stint selling wine wholesale for Ruby Wines, hosting an AIRBNB Experience focusing on the beverage culture of Colonial Boston, and teaching at Boston University. Kim holds Level 3 certificates through both the WSET and the Elizabeth Bishop Wine School, is a Certified Specialist of Wine, and attained the distinctions of French Wine Scholar and Spanish Wine Scholar, both with Highest Honors, from the Wine Scholar Guild. She was one of the first Americans awarded the title of Champagne Specialist from the region of Champagne, and is a Certified Cicerone (the beer equivalent of a Sommelier). She has a Masters’ Degree in Gastronomy from Boston University and a BA from Colgate University. Kim is an avid home cook and beekeeper, brews beer and mead, and bakes amazing sourdough bread and birthday cakes.
